Grasshoppers Travel take out Triad Thunder with help from Jay, 8-4

Jay went 3-3 at the plate as he lifted Grasshoppers Travel to an 8-4 victory over Triad Thunder in six innings at Kernersville Beeson on Sunday.Two Grasshoppers Travel runs were scored thanks to timely hitting by Jay. Jay tripled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.Gavin racked up two RBIs on one hit for Triad Thunder. Gavin homered in the first inning.Grasshoppers Travel ran wild on the basepaths, finishing with seven steals. CJand Will each had one stolen base, Dawson had two stolen bases, and Jay had three stolen bases.

Trevor was strong on the mound, as he threw strikes on 44 of his 59 pitches. Trevor collected five strike outs and walked none for Grasshoppers Travel.The top of the first saw Grasshoppers Travel take an early lead, 2-0. Dawson singled to ignite Grasshoppers Travel's offense. A stolen base then moved Dawson from first to second. Jay singled, bringing home Dawson.Grasshoppers Travel pushed more runs across when Jay scored on a wild pitch.

The game was never in doubt after the third, as Grasshoppers Travel scored five runs on an RBI double by Jake, a groundout by Will, a steal of home by Jay, and two triples.One run in the bottom of the fifth helped Triad Thunder close its deficit to 7-4. An RBI double by Zach set off a Triad Thunder rally. But, Trevor got Gavin to ground out to end the inning.

Grasshoppers Travel outlast Purple in high-scoring affair, 26-25

The bats were busy at Kernersville Beeson on Sunday, and when the dust cleared Grasshoppers Travel had a 26-25 win over Purple in eight innings.Hitters on both sides were strong at the plate as the teams combined for 50 hits, including 14 extra base hits.Austin racked up six RBIs on three hits for Grasshoppers Travel. Austin singled in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and tripled in the seventh inning.Brett racked up four RBIs on two hits for Purple. Brett doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Grasshoppers Travel pounded Purple pitching, as nine hitters combined for 20 hits, 20 RBIs and 23 runs scored.Grasshoppers Travel ran wild on the basepaths, finishing with eight steals.Dawson, Jake, Jay, CJ, Will, and Ian each had one stolen base and Evan had two stolen bases.Dawson threw one inning of scoreless ball for Grasshoppers Travel.
